Extra Large Beach Towel ThinkGeek

Extra Large Beach Towel ThinkGeek

We bought this Tardis towel from ThinkGeek & it looks really cool & is velvety soft on the front. Sadly, it was made of a very thin, low-quality material (even thinner than any cheap dollar store-brand beach towel

I've ever seen, with very sparse loops on the backside for absorption). To make things worse, the velvety soft threads that make up the colored design fall out without cause. We washed it twice, following the directions on the tag, & it shed fuzz all over the rest of the laundry, & in the process, left several threadbare spots on the brand new towel. It also leaves the same dark blue fuzzies clinging for dear life all over your wet body when you use it! We gave it 2 stars for the awesomeness of the design,

but as far as actually using it to dry off, it leaves a lot to be desired, so that accounts for the 3 missing stars. It cost $30 by the time you pay for shipping, so of course you don't expect it be like this... HOWEVER....We contacted the website & they were awesome about it & are shipping us a new one. We didn't even have to send back the other one!

We are of the mind that it was likely from a defective earlier batch, & that this newer one will be better. That said, it is cool looking, so we hung the current one on a door in the house so it kind of looks like you are walking into the Tardis when you go through..hehe...will update after we receive the replacement. Hope this helps!
